Coast/Beach
The lake at Iznajar has a beach (Valderenas) with windsurfing, pedaloes, bikes for hire and watersports available. From Spring to the end of Summer there are two excellent beach bars serving reasonably priced food and drinks. The nearest coastal beaches are those on the Costa Del Sol less than 50 minutes away.

Golf
Superb golf course 30 minutes away in Antequera. Multitude of courses on Costa Del Sol 50 minutes away.

Skiing
Sierra Nevada can be reached comfortably within an hour and a half. Skiing till end of April.

Special Interest Holidays
Wide range of courses are available should these be of interest including language, cookery, birdwatching).

Michael Bernasconi our neighbour is a respected local artist and offers art lessons to residents and visitors at a very reasonable cost in his beautiful studio overlooking the mountains and lake.

How to get there
Nearest airports Malaga (50 mins). Granada (40 minutes) Seville and Gibraltar are a very easy drive – two hours away.

Distances
It is 3 miles to Iznajar village which tumbles beautifully down a hillside and provides a range individual shops banks etc. Regular fiestas are held. Cortijo Olivas is an excellent base for sightseeing the region. Within a now one hour drive are Cordoba (to the north) with the ‘Mesquita’ mosque, flowered patios, Jewish quarter and the city of Seville (to the west – 2 hrs) with it’s many cultural delights and the Isla Magica theme park. Granada and the magnificent Alhambra is only 1 hr away.

Further Details
There are plenty of great dining out opportunities both around the village and within short driving distances. Horse riding is available 10km away. There are water parks at Granada and on the coast.
